We believe that the church is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing two ordinances of Christ, baptism and the Lord's Supper. Its scriptural offices are pastors and deacons and its primary purpose is to fulfill the Great Commission.

Over 150 years ago this church was born. It has a long and wonderful history. There have been many people over the years who have served and sacrificed so that Union Grove Baptist Church could occupy this corner at the intersection of Nebo Road and Union Grove Church Road today. From a brush arbor, to a wood frame church building, to the beautiful structure we occupy at this time Union Grove has grown and it has changed. We believe that we are here at this intersection for a purpose and that those who have gone before us were used by our God to establish the foundation for all that is taking place today. There is indeed a rich and colorful history at Union Grove but we believe that the future is even brighter than our past. In recent years we have seen much growth and experienced the undeserved blessing of God in this fellowship. There is a sense of excitement here as we meet and anticipate what our great God is going to do next. We are a Great Commission Church and we actively seek to minister to our community in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The world is our missionfield and we, with God's help and strength, are doing what we can to reach the world for Him.
